People often complain about the lack of truly principled politicians around today. Well I can assure you that I am a conviction politician. I truly believe in my heart of hearts that what is right is whatever seems to popular amongst voters right now, and I will stand by that position come what may.
I believe that I have the drive and the moral courage to see through my vision to the end. That end being my winning the election. Sure, some people may not agree with my policies, but I have no doubt that I will overcome the naysayers. Mostly because I will only choose policies for which the naysayers make up 30% of the electorate or fewer.
Some claim that I am a populist, but I can assure you that I am only as populist as voters say they want their leader to be in Ipsos Mori political surveys. Whilst some say I’m a pragmatist, I’m actually only 33% pragmatic which is what the average voter considers the optimal amount.
But what about the really divisive topics, like Immigration where there is a pretty even divide amongst the population? Well voters, I think I’ve made it clear what my position is: I believe that we should all be allowed to speak freely about these issues and that holding opinions on them should not be a problem. I truly believe that talking about immigration is OK and so is talking about the welfare state.
I have great admiration for the great ideological crusaders of the past like Martin Luther King jr., Gandhi, Abraham Lincoln. All of whom are rated extremely favourably by the British public. I hope to follow in the footsteps of Nelson Mandela in that I want to be Prime Minister of a country.
I hope those of you reading this will take away the message that I am someone who is truly willing to stand up for what I believe in. Unless you don’t like people who do that, in which case I won’t.
