The Conservative Party have today launched an advertising campaign, blaming the current state of the country on “a coalition directly caused by the last Labour government”.
In a series of leaflets and television slots, business leaders and prominent Conservative party members claim that the Labour Party under Gordon Brown were “directly responsible for failing to get re-elected”, before listing the failures of the coalition.
“Take me for example” says Michael Gove in one television slot. “Look at what I’ve done to the National Curriculum. I’m a complete shit. And you know who let me in? Labour.”
The campaign has provoked anger from other parties, with Lib Dem business secretary Vince Cable claiming that the adverts “fail to acknowledge the role that other mainstream parties have played in the failure of this government.”
“If this is what we’re like after the last time,” says Prime minister David Cameron, “Imagine how bad we’ll be if you vote Labour again!”
